The Tennis Coaching Team

As Head Coach, Tom Therrien continues to be responsible for all the tennis coaching at Lansdown whilst working 'on court' principally with the junior players in the Lansdown Academy Squad. Working with him are:

Ricky Reardon - Ricky joins us from Brighton having been head coach in Sevenoaks.  He is a former Middlesex County Champion and has coached in the UK and the USA. Along with assisting in Junior development he is also responsible for adult coaching at the Club.

Jamie Butt - The newest addition to the Coaching team at Lansdown, Jamie is a local boy who played at the Club as a junior and is now looking to further his coaching career by helping promote the junior section of the coaching.

To enrol onto one of our coaching programs please fill in the relevant application form and return to the Club Reception or email to sport@lansdownclub.co.uk. We will then invite you to an induction session which will enable us to assess your skill level and find a program to suit you. The programmes we offer are outlined below.

Pre School Tennis

We run pre-school tennis courses for children aged 3-5 on weekdays. These sessions focus on the fundamental skills of tennis such as balance, co-ordination and hand eye skills. The course lasts for ten weeks, with sessions lasting one hour each, and costs £50. Click here for more information.

Junior Coaching Programme

Lansdown runs a fully comprehensive LTA accredited coaching programme for all age groups and all abilities.  Whether playing for fun or aspiring to be a county or national level player we have the programme for you.

Squash and Racketball Coaching

Richard Colman is the Head Squash Coach at Lansdown and began working with the club in September 2010.  Richard is overseeing the development of the coaching programme for both Squash and Racketball at the club.  Richard is an England Squash Level 3 Advanced Coach and comes to the club with a vast amount of experience of coaching individuals at all levels.  Richard also coaches and manages the Avon Under 11 and Under 13 County squads and assists new juniors into the county set up by leading the coaching for the County Development Squads.
