Avon Tennis League Update

The Veteran’s team got 2019 off to a winning start with an excellent 8-2 away win at Clevedon last Friday night. It was one rubber all after the Men’s and Ladies doubles matches had been played.  The two mixed matches were very evenly contested as our 7-5 7-5 and 7-6 7-6 victories would suggest.

The team is currently 4th in the table after 5 matches with another 5 to play.

Boosted by a welcome influx of some good young players, our 1st and 2nd teams started the Winter League season extremely well. Both teams resume their seasons with optimism this Sunday.

The 1st team are at home to Redland Green (10.15am start). They have won 3 of their 4 matches so far and are currently 3rd in the Div 1 table, so with another home match on the following weekend they will be looking to make a successful start to 2019.

The 2nd team are away to Clifton who they beat 10-0 in the first match of the season. After 4 matches they have won 2 and lost 2 and are 2nd in the Division 2 table.
