HadrianThe Squash and Racketball programme at Lansdown is led by Hadrian Stiff and Elitesquash.  Hadrian began Eliesquash 25 years ago with a vision to provide the ultimate environment for young squash players to flourish, this still remains the same today. The academy has evolved into a place where juniors and adults of all standards can benefit no matter what the aspirations.

Having played at a high level in both the junior and senior professional game, Hadrian has drawn on his own experiences in the competitive domain and blends this with what is learned from the players in the current program. Always asking ‘what is the most useful and successful tools each player can have to progress to maximum potential?’. This is an ongoing process and all members of the coaching team share ideas and findings to help each other give pupils the most effective teaching possible.

He wants everyone who comes into contact with Elitesquash to feel our energy and excitement for coaching while enjoying a relaxed and professional service. For that reason, the team are encouraged to be creative and inspirational in every session and to love what we do. We share the same vision and philosophy and are all good friends who support and encourage each other.

He believes that the overall environment plays a crucial part of the experience for everyone who attends our sessions and a conscientious and relaxed coaching manner is a key part of this. He also believes that process plays a crucial part in learning and competing. Enjoying and experiencing each element of the squash journey from the sessions on court, to the people around us, to the city we are in all contributes to ongoing success.

The Club Charter is a progressive club development programme that aims to increase the number of adults and juniors playing squash and Racketball in clubs, increase the recruitment, education and development of coaches and volunteers, and improve the infrastructure of our club network.  The Club Charter is linked to Sport England’s Clubmark award.  Put simply, by achieving Club Charter status, we have shown our commitment to offer a welcoming environment, set high standards in child protection, and work closely with local schools to develop the future generations of squash and Racketball players.

Sport England recognises and values the commitment made by the Lansdown Club to develop high quality, welcoming environments for young participants. The development of clubs that encourage young people to take-up sport, improve their talents, possibly play a leadership role and give them the option to initiate and maintain life-long participation in sport is an essential part of supporting the sporting infrastructure in England. The Lansdown Club are proud to have been recognised for achieving the standards necessary to obtain the Clubmark award.
